It was the best Hitachi 3/8 drill available and it was very disappointing. The drill has plenty of power.
I also have a Milwaukee 1/2 inch hammer drill and it absolutely smokes the Dewalt and some of the others I've tried. Of course, Milwaukee is usually top of the line when it comes to drills.
I bought this drill a few months ago after one of my old ones died. The keyless chuck works great.
This drill is a little pricey for a 3/8 but you only have to buy it once. Before I bought the Milwaukee I tried a Hitachi from a big box store.
I took it back and bought the Milwaukee and have been very happy ever since.
